Sunday April 10th Recap

Hey Empowered Life fam,

We are continuing with our theme, The Year of the Holy Spirit: Equipping the Saints to Fulfill the Great Commission.

I have been teaching over the last few weeks on the Ministry of Healing. During my prep time, I was reminded of the word Daniel Black brought to the church, "many feel called to the ministry of Jesus who haven't first experienced the ministry of Jesus."

Isaiah 61 demonstrates the ministry of Jesus.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.

With so many new people visiting ELC, I wondered how many have:

Heard the Good News- Romans 5:19," that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them."
Have received healing in their hearts from Jesus.
Are no longer prisoners- Understands and lives a lifestyle of forgiveness
They know how to not live as a captive- one who has believed a lie keeping them in bondage.

Weekly we are experiencing testimonies of people receiving healing from Jesus physically and emotionally weekly. You get what you preach, so I'm going to keep preaching on the Presence and Power of God.

There is an opportunity to sow into our youth. We need to raise 5,000 dollars for our upcoming youth retreat. Our first fundraiser is April 22nd, with a family movie night. All concessions go toward the youth retreat.
